FAQ - Keepy

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently asked questions for Keepy application.

Getting Started & Access

Why do I need to log in with my Gmail account?

Logging in with your Google Account allows the app to personalize your experience and securely identify your session without needing to create a new, separate password.

Why does the app need access to all my photos?

The app requires Photo Library access to display your images for the swipe-to-organize feature. You can manage these permissions at any time in your iPhone's Settings > Privacy & Security > Photos.

Gesture Controls & Organization

What do the different swipe gestures do?

The app uses intuitive gestures to help you sort quickly:

  • Swipe Right: Keep the image in your gallery.
  • Swipe Left: Delete the image from your device.
  • Swipe Up: Mark the image as a Favorite.
  • Swipe Down: Mark for Review Later if you can't decide yet.

How do I find images I've already swiped?

You can view your organized photos in separate tabs. The app provides dedicated views to see exactly how many images you have Deleted, Kept, Favorited, or marked for Review.

Can I undo a swipe if I make a mistake?

Yes you can revisit the swipes that you have made from the home page of the application. Each swipe has a dedicated tab that can be accessed and you can review the images.

Privacy & Data Security

Are my photos being uploaded to the cloud?

No. All your images remain strictly on your iPhone. The application does not upload your personal photos or videos to any external servers or cloud services.

Where is my app data stored?

All information regarding your swipes (which photos are kept or favorited) is stored in your device's local storage. This ensures your data stays private and is only accessible through your phone.

What is Firebase used for in this app?

We use Firebase solely to collect app interaction data (such as which features are used most). This helps us improve the app's performance and is not linked to your personal images.

Storage & Deletion

Does swiping left immediately delete the photo from my iPhone?

When you swipe left, the image is moved to a "To be Deleted" state within the app. To permanently free up space, you must confirm the deletion, which usually moves the items to the Recently Deleted folder in your iOS Photos app.

Will I lose my progress if I delete the app?

Because all data is stored locally on your device and not synced to a cloud account, deleting the app will remove your swiping history and "Review Later" lists. Your original photos will remain safe in your iPhone's native gallery.
